Jester on Castle Road

My jester dancing down the road makes you wonder what was happening at the castle behind her.  Maybe I need to write a children’s book and find out. This illustration started with the jester.  Once she was done, I wanted to place in her in a setting full of mystery. We had been to France to visit my daughter who was on study abroad and came across a beautiful castle lit up at night. The photo I had was the inspiration for the scene. I added the lake, and made the reflection by flipping my castle drawing and then brushing it and adding moonlight reflections.   The stars were taken from a night photo that I grunged a bit. Then I assembled it all together.  The composition draws your attention to her first, and then back to the castle and the lake.  Just what was going on? And why is she dancing all alone as she leaves?
