Skating Dress

Skating dresses sparkle like diamonds, but sometimes it seems they costs as much. My solution? A stop to the thrift store where I looked for stretchy prom dresses that I could alter.  Here is a black velvet dress that was floor length.  I cut it to mini length, took in the sides, and added my own crystals to make it sparkle. This is my daughter at the competition.  The inset photo shows her holding the medal she won! That’s my great Aunt Helen’s trusty World War II era Singer in the background.
