Hope Through Housing, Donor Appreciation Booklet

The best gift for a donor is knowing how dollars donated help people in need. This 20-page viewbook uses photos and quotes to tell the stories of people helped by the nonprofit Hope Through Housing.

We carefully chose photos and did additional photos shoots to make sure we had the images we needed. We also edited the text over and over. One of the cardinal rules of good writing is: show, don’t tell. At first the text I was given was passive, telling what the organization did rather than showing the results. In the end we cut the text in half. We made sure we had stories of individuals and we bolded key words of their quotes. The result: the book gives a window into the lives of real people helped by generous contributions. Donors are proud to display personalized books like this one.

The files for the book can be updated and personalized for different donors. It can be printed at custom book sites for a reasonable price, or it can be assembled using a standard 8 x 8 inch photo album.
